A-Math tuition

Online A-Math tuition for Sec 3 and Sec 4

Weekly online group classes for G3 Additional Mathematics (O-Level, and the SEC from 2027). Each lesson is 2 hours on Google Meet, and students can WhatsApp me whenever they’re stuck in between. Fees are $240 a month for 4 lessons, or $400 a month if your child takes E-Math too.

Why A-Math feels so hard at first

A-Math is usually the subject that catches students off guard in Sec 3. It moves quickly, the algebra is heavier than anything in Sec 2, and a lot of questions don’t look like the examples in the textbook. Over the years, I noticed that many students don’t practise A-Math consistently between lessons. Some don’t feel confident enough to try questions on their own, some can’t remember what was taught the week before, and some don’t know how to structure their revision.

So every A-Math topic is broken into small skills. For each skill there’s a short explanation of the method and why it works (not just the steps to memorise), a fully worked example, and then practice that builds up to exam-style questions. Students always know which skill they’re working on and what comes next.

What we cover

The classes follow the latest MOE G3 Additional Mathematics syllabus. Here’s the 2027 plan, in the order we’ll go through it.

Sec 3 A-Math: quadratic functions and inequalities, surds, polynomials and partial fractions, binomial theorem, exponential and logarithmic functions, coordinate geometry, circles, linear law and trigonometry, followed by revision for the end-of-year exams.

Sec 4 A-Math: differentiation and its applications, integration and its applications, kinematics and proofs in plane geometry, followed by topical revision, prelim preparation and full-paper practice.

The full week-by-week timetable is on the Programmes page.

How lessons work

Lessons are weekly and 2 hours long, held on Google Meet. Each week we work through one topic together, with clear explanations, worked examples and plenty of exam-style practice, plus time for questions. All your child needs is a laptop or tablet, a stable internet connection and a notebook. Lessons aren’t recorded, and cameras are optional.

Choose one slot for your child’s class:

ClassOption AOption B
Sec 3 A-MathSat 3–5pmTue 4–6pm
Sec 4 A-MathSat 5.30–7.30pmTue 6.30–8.30pm

If your child misses a lesson during the school term, they can join the other slot that week as a make-up.

Between lessons

This is the part I care about most. Students can WhatsApp me any time they’re stuck on a question, instead of waiting a whole week and losing momentum. They also get full access to the Verity practice portal, with daily A-Math questions by topic, worked solutions for every question, and progress tracking that you can see as a parent too. Lesson notes, curated worksheets and the Verity resource bank (topical worksheets, past-year and prelim papers) are included.

The first lesson is $60 for one subject (or $50 each if you’d like to try both), with no strings attached. If you continue, it counts towards your first month’s fee.

Questions parents ask about A-Math

My child is weak in A-Math. Can they still join?

Yes. Lessons build fundamentals step by step, and every topic starts from the basic skills before moving to exam-style questions. Students are encouraged to ask whenever they’re stuck, and no question is too small.

My child is going into Sec 3. Is it too early?

Not at all. The start of Sec 3 is when A-Math habits are formed, and the first topics (quadratic functions, surds, polynomials) lean heavily on Sec 2 algebra. If your child is in Sec 2 now, the Sec 2 E-Math holiday revision class (Nov–Dec 2026) goes over exactly that algebra.

Does my child need to take E-Math too?

Students who take A-Math also take E-Math, because the A-Math syllabus builds on G3 Mathematics. Your child can join either class on its own, or both at $50 a lesson per subject.

Is this for the O-Level or the new SEC exam?

Both. From 2027, Sec 4 students sit the Singapore-Cambridge SEC exam instead of the O-Levels. A-Math is taken at G3, the same standard as O-Level, so the content and the way we prepare stay the same.
